Across the Falgu river lies the Sujata Kuti and Sujata Stupa. This ancient brick mound marks the village of Sujata, the milkmaid (or noblewoman) who offered Kheer (rice pudding) to the emaciated Siddhartha, ending his extreme fasting.
This offering gave him the strength to meditate under the Bodhi tree. It is a symbol of compassion and the 'Middle Way' (avoiding extremes). The walk through the village fields to reach here is rustic and peaceful.

A UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest brick structures in India. It marks the exact spot of the Buddha's enlightenment.

The sacred Ficus religiosa under which Siddhartha became the Buddha. The current tree is a direct descendant of the original.

An ancient Hindu temple on the Falgu riverbank dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It houses a 40cm footprint of the Lord stamped into basalt rock.
